I'm looking for a couple out in Bakersfield CA. Once I get going you will know who I am. I know you had some major issues through Pacesetter. I've dealt with both (mainly the mrs.)of you on almost a daily basis while working there(It wasn't a bad thing at all). I understand where both of you were coming from. I do know that the job did get completed (per management;I was no longer with the co.)with the help from someone in my office. You had sent me pictures of your windows and (you dealt with the Frenso office) I saw all the mistakes. I know things didn't get off on the right hand as your product were damaged, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm glad that things worked out for you and your family. The part I enjoyed was knowing that things got resolved for you and hopefully it wasn't that bad of an experience. I did everything that I could to help you out. Yes,Pacesetter is a rip off. My husband and I found out the hard way. We were approched at K-mart by someone talking about the pacesetter corp. regarding home improvement. We had been thinking about taking out our patio doors and having french doors installed , but we were not sure we could do the job our selfs, so we called the pacesetter corp. and they sent someone down for a free estimante.
After deep thought on their proposal we dicided to have them install the doors.They put the doors in Novemberof 2004. Thats when the problems started, the doors would not shut right ,there was a gap at the top , the threshhold was not even there, they had removed part of our porch floor at the threshhold and not replaced .So I called them to have these problems resolved in December 2004 we will send someone right out 2 weeks no one ,I called again ,in the mean while the lock quit working you could not use your key to get in the house. This is October 2005 and they still have not come down to fix our door.

As far as I know I believe they told folks that thier last day at work was last June 2005. I knew it would happen when kuvender Dulko tried to run everything .. steping on the people who worked under him to get to the top. Well he steped on the wrong person.

He found his self out of there, looking for a job else where. Not long after he found himself unemployed, the Pace setter corporation went out of business. One day I went over there behind the building, & I saw all kinds of lead sheets of previous customers scattered everywhere.

In April of this year my 76 year old mother saw a television ad on a local TV station (channel 8 in San Diego), she contacted the company for a free estimate. They came out and talked her into signing a contract for kitchen cabinets, countertops, and wood flooring. They took a deposit of $982.00. They kept calling her to extend the installation date. In July they called to say they couldn't do the countertops but would be able to do the rest of the job. She mentioned cancelling the job but they called back and said the materials had arrived. They would contact her in 2 weeks to schedule the job. They called Sept 7th and said 2 more weeks, again they called Sept 28 and said 2 more weeks. Now the installation date is October 13th. I tried the numbers on the contract (7 in California and 1 in Nevada) all have been disconnected but the one in Sacramento and that line is constantly busy. Today I called channel 8 to see what they know of this company since that is where the ad came from. They called me back saying they never got paid for the ad that ran for 3 days, April 4/5/6. They suggested I look at this site. I think we should contact the DA office, do a class action lawsuit, or something to stop this from continuing. The TV station said the order came from Nebraska. Well, its been 6 months, maybe we are lucky that we are just out the deposit, I'm wondering if they will ever show up to do the job, of course they would be turned away after reading all of these comments.

we had 3 windows and a storm door installed and had no problems. we must be the exception to the rule. as a matter of fact, our story is 180 from all the others.
we have a bay window, the middle is very large, the sides are 4'x1', they were to put dbl hung on the sides and a solid in the middle. they installed 1 dbl hung 4x1 and 1 solid 4x1, but they made a mistake and instaled a dbl hung middle at no charge. when we called them, they were back within 24hs, replaced the solid 4x1 with a dbl hung 4x1, and told us that they would be "just throwing the window away", they ask us if we wanted the window at no charge. well duh, sure.
the only problem we are having is the dbl hung big window is getting hard to raise and lower.

I just discovered all this information about Pacesetter. We were set up with them thru SAM'S Club. We got a storm door installed and it has burned out my doorbell because it was installed improperly and screwed up the electrical wiring. According to Amerifirst, Pacesetter only has one office operating anymore and that is in Sacremento. They are there supposedly to provide service to existing customers. We'll see. Their phone # is 916-788-2931. I have left them a message today and am waiting for them to call back. Amerifirst also informed me that I have no recourse on payment, my money is owed to them not Pacesetter so not paying the bill is not an option unless you want to screw up your credit.

On April 8, 2004 we purchased a storm door through a

representative "working Sam's Club" in Austin, Tx. The

door was installed satisfactorilly (and well it should have

been for $639.00!) On August 2, 2005, I spoke with Helen

in California and told her that the storm door lock was

stuck in the locked position and we were unable to use the

door. She assured me that she would send me a new locking

mechanism for $5.00 handling fee. I disengaged the lock by

unscrewing it from the door. It is still in that condition!

Now that would make one wonder if the Pacesetter Co. is a

legimate company! Today I have called every phone number

that I could find in two states, but alas, disconnects and

continual ringing was all that I was greeted with! Would

someone out there in Pacesetter cyberspace PLEASE answer

In December of 2003 a pacesetter rep. came to our house to give us this big talk about how great pacesetter is. We needed siding and all the works that go along with it at the time and his spiel sounded good so we signed a contract with them. He was a very convincing liar. Everything he told us was a lie. Work was suppose to start the very next week. Well it did not and after many excuses from pacesetter they finally came out and started the work on the house. By the way they came and did the work in a blinding snow storm. How could they see what they were doing. The company sent the wrong color of siding so that part of it had to be stopped while the right stuff was sent. We waited and it finally came. So they started again. The guys that were putting in the siding kept making remarks about how we got taken. The siding they were putting in was suppose to be the best there is. Well according to the guys it was the worst siding in the world. The one guy asked me how much I paid for this stuff and when I told him he laughed they all did. They did not do some of the things that we paid them to do. They left all of there trash and nails and metal pieces laying around. It is now 2 years later and we are still finding trash and nails all over our yard. We found out later that the siding we purchased should not have cost us what it did. It should have been about half of what it cost us. And now we find out that they are no longer in buisness in Pa. Well we are suppose to have a lifetime guarantee on the siding with them. So if something happens what do we do then. We have tried contacting them but to no avail. I have even written to Sam's Club where we first met the pacesetter guy, they said they have nothing to do with this. Pacesetter was just in the store showing a product.
Once again the little people have been taken by big company. We will never buy anything from any company other than one that is owned and operated locally. And on top of all this we have never gotten anything from the finance company that we signed with. O they take their money out every month but have they contacted us. NO I THINK NOT

Somewhere in California there was some name attached to a voice mail, I didn't recognize the voice. I knew Phil Hice, Debbie Chavera, Robert D., Michael L. and even Jen. Had pacesetter windows installed Ja./2005. What hurts i knew better. All window installers want to much as far as Iam concerned. Any way all the windows got installed 3 need corrective action. The window capping was never done. I have a phone number for the installer,but he never returns my calls. I contacted the finance company Pacesetter was using they no longer do business with Pacesetter. The girl gave me a phone number in Pittsburgh, but all the phone does is keep ringing, no one answers.
it sure seems a shame that as a consumer I do not seem to have any recourse against Pacesetter.

We had all Pacesetter windows put on our home. We were told..because we got all of the windows at one time.. they would "THROW" in a $700.00 door. All was fine and good, until the door swelled so badly we could not even close it. We have had someone from the company check out ther door. he did some adjustments.. still the same problem plus... we can not lock the screen door now. I have made several calls, the company sent someone out again last Nov (2004) . The paint is coming off the door and the repairman scratched "MORE" paint off and said this is suppose to be baked on and should not come off that easily.. he said he would order a new door for us. We did not hear anything for months...than when I called.. that location had closed.. I was told to call the company in Minneapolis that bought them out. I called number and he said he had a door there with my name on it and he would send someone to put it on... months went by and I re- called the company in Minneapolis.. only to hear a message that they were no longer in service. I have tried calling the phone number (402-331-9400) in Omaha, Ne. I could not get through.. I really like the windows but the door is a piece of "JUNK".. has anyone filed a complaint with their attorney general and gotten any
favorable response back as of yet? i just sent mine in today and just wondered
what the general response had been on any replies...and for those of you who
have asked corporateknowledge for asst....his (or hers) information appears to
be genuine and accurate...i had gotten ahold of mark aloes cell phone number and
called him...he was not a happy camper that first of all i had gotten his number
...but secondly that it seemed i had the gaul to actually call him and
complain...he stated he has not been affilitaed with pacesetter since stepping
away from the company about 30-45 days ago...whether thats true of not i don't
know...but he was quite taken aback by my nerve calling him...and asked...how
would i feel if i was called at home? corporateknowledge did give me an address

I drove by the old Pacesetter Offcie on Old Placerville Rd in Rancho Cardova California today in route elsewhere. SUV's, furniture in trailers, numbers on desk (numbers mean auction ?). I spoke with a labor legal suave individual and was told that when labor boards can't help a law exist called, ".. teh sue Your Boss Law (google it).." I was just wondering if any one was in class action because I'd like to get money owed me as well. I don't want a hand out, I don't want anything other then the money owed me. I have been hoping and looking for a website from other people with complaints on this company.

I got really screwed with them. I am very disappointed with my State and City for letting these people here to operate a business. I have gone through great lengths looking for the Salesman that came and spoke with me. I wish I had paid more attention to my gut feeling. I consider myself to be somewhat smart and did not expect this to happen to me, particularly being older, I consider myself to have become a little wiser with age, its always one of those stories you see or hear about other people.

My nightmare started in September 2004, borrowed money and paid the finance company off. If have excellent credit and with retirement coming soon for me, I am trying to clear off all debts.

I won't go into detail about my horror story, but there were many lies from many people. They eventually stop taking my calls, closed the office I was working with and supposedly moved all their operation to California and was reorganizing. None of the phone numbers that I had worked anymore, and the people in California pretended to not have a clue. Even the finance company pretended to not know anything.

I first got involved with them because I needed replacement windows and was at a Sam's store who was promoting this company for home improvement. Thinking that Sams Club would not avail themselves to a company that was not reputable, I let them set up an appointment. I have to say it was the biggest mistake of my life.

I did go back to Sams Club and tried to get information but was told that they were not longer recommending Pacesetter but now had a new company. I was told by the Sams Club Associate that many other people had come in and complained and thought there was a class action lawsuit. Checking with the local District Attorney and the State Attorney General, they were unaware at the time I checked. But I still requested and received the forms from the District Attorney's office, which I will fill out and return.

I do not know if it will do me any good, but I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and any other agency that I can.

Thanks for letting me vent. I do agree with you that Pacesetter Sucks.

I worked or should I slaved for 4 years with Pacesetter in the sales dept. About 2 years B.I.(before Iskra) and 2 years F.I.(for Iskra). As you all know, the B.I. years seemed to be predictable and basically, you got out what you put in if you bought into the way they wanted you to perform. I made a ton of money and even though I didn't have a life, I learned alot about direct sales and the years and years of experience that Pacesetter had in this type of business. As I reflect back, they always said they were a " sales company", not necessarly a home improvement company. Then, when Iskra took over, the spirit, mood, motivation, and sense of security diminished, month by month. The way business was conducted was basically the same so where did all the money go??? The Schrager family sure made a ton of dough,so how can you run it into the ground in such a short period of time? My only take would be the lead system(not taking anything away from the telemarketers as they could only produce what they had to work with). I think the "head in the sand" approach of how much impact the National Do Not Call List was huge as the company was not really proactive like so many other companies were. The only people they were able to call were the low lifes and the ones that were too lazy, stupid, ignorant, didn't speak or understand English. This makes a very, very tough selling environment, even for the strongest of the "closers". Does anybody out there in ex Pacesetter land really know that truth of where all the money went? Look forward to your thoughts and reflections.

We are Sam's Club members and a kiosk was set up at our local Sam's where we inquired about windows. We did not know who the window contractor was until Pacesetter contacted us from the information they received from Sam's Club.

Long and short of our story is Pacesetter took our downpayment, cashed the check never showed up to install the windows and come to find out the window order was never processed. Right after that information developed, we found out Pacesetter had closed it's doors here in Texas. Since Sam's Club was hosting a kiosk for Pacesetter and it is a "member's only" type of store, we contacted Sam's Club. Sam's Club is supposed to be working with their members to get refunds issued.

We have been dealing with this Sam's Club/Pacesetter mess for 4 months now and it should not take this long to get a refund.

For anybody out there who is a Sam's Club member who inquired about windows and Pacesetter was given their member information, try calling Sam's Club customer care number at 802-786-6700.

We are still waiting for our refund, but according to Sam's Club the president is now involved with getting refunds to their members.

Good luck to all of you out there and maybe we will see our refund.

Hey i worked there for ten years. I was a rep asm and a sales manager in Fresno. Pacesetter was a great co at one time. It offered all the benefits and a chance for growth if you could stomach the hours. The real problem was there prices and the lead system. Management was harsh and tried to suck up every hour of your day. The co. never changed and other co. got into the game working less hours and more money. Lets face it 8 oclock burn out 50 miles away for text coat in the rain. And they speak broken english. What the hell!!! Since I left I am so much happier and make more money with alot more time to my family.. I just want my money. If they had not burned us all I would not be so pissed off. GUys like gary and gary do not live in the same reality as the rest of us. For the rest of you slaming each other I dont care I want to know when and how to get paid. So if you can not offer any help to the rest of us do not bother!

My siding and gutter were ripped off during winter storm and Pacesetter had just come into Pennsylvaina as a new company. They came to my home offering new siding and leafaway at a $5,000 price. Luckily my apraiser was able to catch wind and got the price down the job got done. But the installer was a dipstick. My son-in-law was here and told the man not to walk on the roof has it was just new and the previous owner didn't put enough beams across, so he told the men to use ther scafolding. They didn't. They damaged my roof causing a leak over one window bring snow and rain in to the bedroom, between the walls down into my kitchen. When I confronted Pacesetter, they made me go through my homeowners insurance to hire a contractor to do the interior repair, but the exterior repair was some kind of a seal. Pacesetter paid my deductable. A year later and the damage has happened again. I had an indpendent roofer go up on the roof and take pictures and found out the shingles were buckled by the leafaway installation and its going to cost $2600 to repair. I now have a court hearing with Pacesetter. I have damage again in the ceilings of my bedroom and kitchens again. They won't answer my phone calls and I have gone through the BBB. The BBB doesn't get a respone either. They have closed there Richmond office and opened an office here in Pittsburgh, PA

First of all, I have read numerous posts' on this site, and after working at Pacesetter for about 6 months or so, I definately believe the stories.

I worked at Pacesetter years ago, but it does'nt sound like they have turned into an honest business from all the personal stories. I worked as a telemarketer, I believe the year was 1987, or around that time. I was in my early 20's and found out about this "great paying job" from a friend of my girlfriend at the time. Her husband was a sales manager at the Pacesetter in New Brighton, Mn. I was realy pumped up by what this guy told me, so the following week I went to apply for a job, and I got one ! My initial "training" was done by some guy who promissed big money, which of course made me excited. All I had to do was call people 8-10 hours/day and make appointments for the "sales reps" to go to these peoples' homes and sell them windows, siding or security systmes. Each item had their own department, and I was in the "windows" dept at first. I would cold call from the phone book, and use a scripted "pitch" with scripted rebutals, more rebutals and so on. Anyway, I beleive I was paid a base pay which was minimum wage, but earned bonus pay if a sales person sold an item to a homeowner because of my call, which turned into a "lead", then the sales person went to the home and made the sale. I can't say much about the sales team because I did'nt see much of that, but as a telemarketer, looking back, I was supposed to use high pressure on these people (the ones that did'nt hang up of course), and just about lie to them. During lunch hour or break time I would see some of the managers and other telemarketers, sales reps, and even the general manager doing drugs, and or gambling. I can't believe this company has been in business for as long as it has. That's all for now.

i am a former salesman with the Grand Rapids, Mi. office hired by Don Manske and Jason Mitchell while on a sales at my house March 20, 2005...to make part of the story short...he talked me into leaving my meat cutting job to become a member of his sales staff telling me i would make a huge living up here in northern michigan where i live, so i started working for them the end of april, 2 weeks after my windows went in. ...well...my windows (8) of them went in okay...the installers did a good job......though, i was not able to open my windows till almost the 3rd week in may due to the unseasinably long winter cold we had here this year...when i went to open my bathroom window THE FIRST TIME...it fell right out. thats when i realised that the constant force balancing bar system that was shown me in my demo model which was metal , turned out in fact to be WAX STRING on my windows...WTF? i called back to the office in Grand Rapids and spoke to Scott Rungie on May 16, 2005 who said " oh, there was a production change that everyone was aware of including the salesmanager. " well i called Don after that and he stated he was unaware of any changes in production...yet we were still demo'ing people with the metal version constant force balancing system display...i finally found out he must have known different as i stated my concern that i didn't want abunch of different windows in my house when i replaced the rest of them.....he stated " don't worry rick, i can get you the same windows from REPUBLIC WINDOWS, and at a HUGE price savings from what pacesetters windows are, and they are IDENTICAL !! ...meaning he knew Pacesetter was no longer manufacturing their own windows anymore...including the ones they SOLD ME!!! so as a customer i was lied to in the name of profit, i would never have bought windows held together inside by friggin STRING, nor was i sent my " factory rebate" which was being used as a selling tatctic at that time in the amount of $360.00 which in my contract was guaranteed to be sent in the form of a check 30 days aftter installation...AND the final insult to injury, i have not been paid $600.00 in back commisions on sales which almost led to my losing my home..now...the finance company is wanting their money...threatening court action if i don't pay...and i told them that Pacesetter did not honor their contract and also " bait and switched " me on part of my product...which wasn't even THEIR manufactured product as stated by Don and Jason...so now..i have no idea what to do..i can't see paying for something that i didn't order as shown me , that a company can't go thru with in the contract terms...yet face some sort of court issue and possiblly having a lien that might not be able to be removed from my home...anybody have ANY help for me? i can't get any answers nor call backs from my repeated calls to pacesetter since may 16th... i also have a customer from the last week in April that originally signed a contract with a 2000.00 deposit check...but cancelled after the second day... calling Pacesetter and cancelling , and mailing in his rescision paperwork...yet Pacesetter still went ahead, cashed his check and now he is out 2000.00 and never even got a SINGLE window

Our windows are double hung and when you close the bottom window the top of the top window is open about 1/2 inch. They dont close. So in the summer we are losing all of our AC and in the winter we are losing all of our heat. We live in the country and we have propane. With the price of gas going up we can not afford to be losing all of our heat out the window. I pulled out the warranty from pacesetter and of course can not get a hold of this company. I am not sure what the next step is going to be.

Six years ago I had Pacesetter's quality (I thought it then and am still enjoying them actually) windows installed. I have been very happy with all dealings with them. I have since learned, however, that I really did pay a huge price, but I was dumb then and am now just trying to maintain them. I was told when I purchased them that for a small charge, they would come out anytime and maintenance. I haven't been able to find a phone number today to contact anyone in the Sacramento Office. I then have spent quite a bit of time on the web just trying to find a number to call at all. Then I have been glimpsing at some of these horrible stories and now have fears that they have gone out of business.

Does anyone know how to reach a corporate office anywhere in the US or Canada? Am I just one of the lucky ones? Honestly, I would have referred people to them if I hadn't realized that the price was pretty high. I have the most quality windows, actually, however, than anyone I know who has had window replacements. They cost more, but they've been great.

I have been trying to contact Pacesetter since May. 2005, and no luck. They Installed a Sunroom for us 2 yrs ago, and to this day, evertime it rains, everything out there gets wet. I worked as an installer, for the Pacesetter Corp over 12 years, in the Fresno Ca. office. I must say that for most of those 12 years I was not totally unhappy. There was a lot of pressure with the GOALS system and I feel that I could have made more money with out it. I did believe that the products were too expensive, but I tried to give each customer the best installation that I could. I know that there were companies whose products were both inferior and more expensive than the Pacesetter Products. I of course also worked long hours and traveled a lot, staying in motels many many nights each year.

It has only been since the company was sold to the Iskra group that the situation became unbearable. After reading the responces on this website, I realize that there are a lot of unhappy customers and former employees. My experience are simular to most of the others. The work load lessened and then the checks came later and later and finally not at all. The company owes me nearly 4000 dollars. After working for three weeks without pay I stopped installing. When I applied for unemployment, I was told that I was not intitled because the Pacesetter Corp. told the unemployment office that I quit my job. I just shake my head talking to the government people that do not seem to understand that if I am not getting paid for my work, I do not believe that I should keep working.

Here is the good part of the story. Since working for Pacesetter, working hard and giving my all for the company. I found that ex pacesetter employees are in demand at other window companies. After leaving Pacesetter I was contacted by three different window companies, looking for installers. Long time ex. Pacesetter installers, are well equiped, have good trucks, start early and work long hours, and are used to traveling. I now work for a quality company who sells a better product for a lot less money. There are no goals, and I get paid ontime including expenses.

I feel that the new owners of the Pacesetter Corp should spend a lot of time in prison for the way they have lied, cheated and stolen from thousands of customers and employees.

You can leave my name on this message and post my e-mail address also. I would like to hear about the new name of the company and would like to do everything that I can to see that the new company does not get a chance to cheat anyone else. Like I said I would like to see Iskra, Kluck, Madden, and Aloe in prison. That is where they deserve to be.

Today I discovered that the latch on my screen door had broken off. I had the same experience with the sliding glass door. I also asked several weeks ago to have a screen replaced in my bathroom. I was promised the screen would be replace immediately as I was still under warranty.

Sounds to me rob like you're the miserable one. When someone spends so much time cutting on other people they must not feel so good about themselves. I do miss playing phase 10 by the way. Hope you can seek help and feel better about yourself. Pacesetter definitely did rub off on you very negative person.... At least I have hope. Sorry I wasnt as happy as you were at Pacesetter. Only a stepping stone in my life. Life goes on. GET HELP ROB!

Lori.... I worked with you at the GR office and I can honestly say that you are one miserable person who doesn't deserve a thing. All you ever did was complain. It was madenning. Why dont you take the few cents you might have and go buy another set of Phase 10 cards.

#129-Good job! I hope John Stossel can get these crooks out in the open and put them to a stop from opening more companys and repeating their crimes on us innocent people.

#130-Quite a few of us from the GR office filed with the Labor Board in May, there is still hope. I just recently spoke with my case worker from the Labor Board and he's on it and aware of the going ons. If they are still in business somewhere we will get them!

#140-Right on Rob! I always did admire you when you were in the GR office. Congrats on the marriage! Lori V.
